Alf Kåre Knudsen

Alf Kåre has worked with employment law throughout his career and has more than 25 years of experience advising employers, trade unions and individuals. Having represented clients on different sides of the employment relationship, he brings a broad perspective to negotiations, disputes and complex workplace situations. He is particularly experienced in matters where legal, commercial and interpersonal considerations need to be balanced, and where finding a workable solution is as important as the legal analysis itself. Negotiation and dispute resolution have been a central part of Alf Kåre’s practice for many years. He has extensive experience from complex negotiations and contentious employment matters and has represented clients in litigation before the Norwegian courts and the Norwegian Labour Court. He has also completed the Harvard Law School Negotiation Workshop through the Centre for Continuing Legal Education. Alongside his legal practice, Alf Kåre has extensive experience as a lecturer and speaker on employment law. He has taught individual and collective employment law, served as a guest lecturer and external examiner at Norwegian universities, and regularly provides training to employers, managers, trade unions and employee representatives. He has also written and contributed to a number of articles and publications on employment law, workplace privacy and employee monitoring. Alf Kåre has held a number of board and committee positions throughout his career, including within the Norwegian Bar Association and in companies within investment and real estate development. Combined with his legal practice, this has given him considerable insight into the commercial and practical issues faced by businesses and their management teams.
